Director of TRiO Educational Opportunity Centers

SUMMARY

Reporting to Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, the Project Director Serves as immediate supervisor of SUSLA EOC project and is responsible for the development and implementation of all project activities of the SUSLA EOC project, including initiation and approval of all budget transactions, assuring compliance with all regulations and assurances necessary for operation of the SUSLA EOC project and providing training and staff professional development. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees daily operations of the department, staff, and services within the Educational Opportunity Center.
  • Scheduling and assignments of Educational Specialists/Data Entry personnel and their duties
  • Maintain program documentation requirements and data input.
  • Manages the operational budgets in compliance with University and Federal regulations.
  • Design, plan, and implement a comprehensive service plan for individual participants to meet student learning outcomes and achieve career goals.
  • Develop relationships with Community Partners, including an understanding of their outside supports, to identify resource/supportive needs and communicate those needs and appropriate information to provide most effective service delivery possible.
  • Developing policies and procedures for EOC information and assistance activities.
  • Prepares and submit TRiO project census and performance reports to the University and the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Assist with bridging students from adult literacy to further education, military, or employment.
  • Assures compliance with all regulations and assurances necessary for operation of the SUSLA EOC project.
  • Recruitment for EOC Program participants.
  • Provide oversight to the EOC Orientation
  • Coordinate transportation with shuttle driver and students to ensure students are properly picked up and dropped off at their home.
  • Roles and duties vary and involve a mix of interpersonal, administrative and advocacy work. Depending on the setting, and case-by-case issues, daily duties may include meeting with students to identify and discuss their problems and providing support/advice in a one-on-one or group setting.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling or related fields/disciplines from an accredited institution; a minimum of 3 years of administrative or supervisory experience in social services, counseling, federal program administration or related fields. Work in TRiO programs preferred. Technical knowledge required. Must have proven grant writing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a case manager in an adult education, job placement, vocational skills training, or welfare-to-work program.
  • Knowledge of job training, education, and social service referral resources
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong computer skills, flexibility, and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and meet deadlines.

TYPE: Full-time

COMPENSATION: $50,000-$56,510
