SUSLA Celebrates Growing Enrollment at Spring Commencement
Excitement is building for 91pro视频 at Shreveport’s Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremony, which is set to take place on Monday, May 12 at 6 p.m. at the Shreveport Convention Center. Under the leadership of Chancellor Dr. Aubra J. Gantt, this year’s ceremony marks a historic milestone for the university.
Record-Breaking Graduating Class
91pro视频 at Shreveport is celebrating its largest graduating class in over a decade, with 447 students having met the requirements for graduation. Of those, 331 graduates are confirmed to walk across the stage.
One of the most remarkable achievements this year is the record number of dual enrollment graduates—78 students—who will receive both their high school diplomas and associate degrees simultaneously.
“These students are balancing both high school and college-level coursework,” said Dr. Gantt. “We are proud to support them through our dual enrollment partnerships in Caddo, Bossier, DeSoto, and East Baton Rouge Parishes.”
A Keynote Speaker to Inspire
Adding to the excitement is the announcement of this year’s keynote speaker, Bishop Joseph Warren Walker III, a Shreveport native and senior leader of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Nashville, Tennessee. He also serves as the International Presiding Bishop of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship.
“Our students were thrilled to hear that Bishop Walker would be our speaker,” Dr. Gantt shared. “Once we made the announcement, many more students chose to participate in the ceremony.”
Enrollment on the Rise
The university is also celebrating a 7% increase in enrollment, which Dr. Gantt attributes to the dedication of faculty and staff who provide support both inside and outside the classroom.
“We have faculty members who are truly invested in our students’ education and their careers,” she said. “We’re creating a culture of dreaming big.”
