Admission Requirements - Clinical Phase
Admission to the clinical phase of the Radiologic Technology Program is competitive and limited by the availability of clinical slots at affiliated hospitals.
Students must obtain approval from the Admissions Committee to enroll in any clinical portion of the Program.
- Applicants must be 18 years old and have sufficient mental and physical health to meet the minimum clinical performance standards. The standards are listed in the Admission Packet.
- Applicants must have at least twelve (12) hours of study at 91pro视频 at Shreveport before applying for admission to the clinical Program.
- Applicants must be willing to work with low levels of radiation exposure and sick and disabled patients.
- Applicants who have been arrested, charged with, convicted of, and pled guilty or nolo contender for any felony or misdemeanor other than minor traffic citations must seek clarification of eligibility to sit for the ARRT Registry Exam before enrollment in this course of study. The ARRT maintains standards of conduct, and a felony conviction may exclude an applicant. As mandated by the Program's clinical affiliates, all clinical students are subject to criminal background checks.
- Students accepted into the Program must be able to pass a physician's physical examination and drug screening, present evidence of Hepatitis vaccination and TB screening, and must be current on all other immunizations before entering the clinical setting.
In addition, applicants must:
- Meet Academic Requirements
- Complete an application for admission to the Radiologic Technology Program.
- Achieve a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5
- Include an official transcript from all colleges/universities attended and attach it to the Application
- Submit a copy of your ACT scores
- Take the HESI Entrance Exam
- Attend a pre-application meeting in the spring semester
- Meet with a Radiologic Technology faculty advisor
- Complete at least twenty-four (24) hours of observation in Radiology
